statement:
I am a pattern and decoration painter and mixed media artist. My current work is influenced by almost 20 years of living in downtown Los Angeles. I am impressed by the bold colors-especially the deep red hues in Chinatown and the fluorescent colors of the Los Angelinos that paint and create with deep passion and bravery. I am also influenced by the contemporary architecture and the postmodern ruins that I translate with beads, pins, fabric and everyday objects.

Artist Statement
The subtle use of surface, color, texture, pattern and rhythm can evoke deep emotions. A painter will use a canvas's surface to construct a narrative, I manipulate the surface itself. My manipulations are an interplay between my emotions, precision planning and the unpredictability of the medium.
